Organic agricolture
At Poggiotondo, we respect and support the nature around us, the soils and the natural fertility of the land, employing traditional techniques in vineyard management.
Our long experience of working the land, together with detailed studies of the soils, gives us the experience to make careful site and vineyard selection for all our wines. Since the beginning, we’ve used low intervention organic viticulture techniques such as composted stems and pomace from the winery as fertiliser, cover crops to manage nutrients in the soil and promote biodiversity.

Natural winemaking
Our mission is to make terroir-driven wines which begin with caring for the vineyards, the soil and its microbiology, and apply the same principles in the cellar. We use concrete tanks and terracotta amphorae for fermentation, and age the wines in both large untoasted oak casks and concrete tanks to preserve the fruit, vitality and texture of the wines.
